This abstract summarizes the experience on the installation of first safe consumption room in Mexico and Latin America that is driven by a civil organization and a group of activists who participate from the academy and public health institutions. In this paper, the methodology for the design of the project that included the realization of a focus group with people who inject drugs, the establishment of a pilot program with duration of three to implement the safe consumption room offered for women and that It has left a cluster of lessons learned to improve the approach of this community intervention. The legal, methodological, empirical and political review are part of the informative items that will be touched in this presentation.
