How do I register for the conference?
Registration for HR17 is now open! Registrations can be completed online via the HR17 registration website page.

How do I change the contact email for my registration account?
Simply log in and edit the primary email address listed under your contact details. All future correspondence will be sent to the new address.

How much does it cost to attend?
Pricing is tiered according to your country's income catagory (high or low income, according to the World Bank). We are also offering discounted Early Bird rates for delegates who register before 27 January 2017. All prices are in GBP.

I applied for a scholarship. When will I find out the outcome of my application? I don’t want to miss out on the Early Bird rate!
You will be notified at the beginning of February. If your application is unsuccessful but you still want to register as a delegate, contact conference[at]hri[dot]global to access the Early Bird discount.

If I register now but change my mind later, can I get a refund? Is there a fee?
Registrations are refundable, but there is an admin fee. See Terms and Conditions for details.

Can I transfer my registration to a different person?
If you cannot attend the conference, someone else may take your place. You must inform us by e-mail (conference[at]hri[dot]global) before 28 April 2017, and the new delegate must present your original payment confirmation on arrival at the conference.

Do I need a visa to visit Canada?
Visitors need a valid passport to enter Canada and they may also require a visa. For information please see Visa Information.

How do I get my visa invitation letter?
If you requested an invitation letter for your visa when you registered, this will be available on your online registration account in due course.

I still don’t know the outcome of my abstract submission. When will I find out?
Notification was sent to the primary email addresses of everyone who submitted an abstract in late December or early January. No emails bounced, but some may have ended up in junk or spam folders. If you still can’t find the email, please contact conference[at]hri[dot]global.

What is the process for putting together the programme, and who is involved?
All abstracts submitted have been be put through a rigorous peer review process, first by an online International Review Committee, and then by an Executive Review Committee which met in London in December 2016 to formulate the conference programme. Where will delegates be staying?

Will I be able to download speakers’ presentations after the conference?
Speakers will have the option to make their presentations available afterwards. We will let all delegates know when these presentations are ready to be downloaded after the conference.

What is harm reduction?
Harm reduction refers to policies, programmes and practices that aim to reduce the harms associated with the use of psychoactive drugs in people unable or unwilling to stop. The defining features are the focus on the prevention of harm, rather than on the prevention of drug use itself, and the focus on people who continue to use drugs. What is the name of the venue and where is it?
HR17 will be held at the Centre Mont-Royal in Montréal, Canada. At the centre of Montréal’s business and entertainment district, the Centre Mont-Royal offers a unique space for special events and conferences.
